Clayton Volunteer Firefighter David 'DJ' Parish Dies, 27: 'Loved Firetrucks The Most'
David "DJ" Joseph Parish, a volunteer with the Clayton Fire Department, died of aspiration pneumonia on Dec. 11, according to his family. The West Deptford resident was 27 years old.
DJ loved spending time at the local firehouse, working alongside his fellow firefighters and helping them in any way he could, his obituary said.
"But he loved the firetrucks the most," the obit says.
He was a graduate of Clearview High School in Mullica Hill.

Thousands Without Power As Tornados Rip Through South Jersey
Tornados ripped through parts of South Jersey Wednesday evening, downing trees and destroying houses along the way, the National Weather Service has confirmed (scroll down for videos).
Firefighters in Harrison Township were conducting searches at nearly 100 homes on and around Josephine Lane as of 7 p.m., unconfirmed and initial reports say.

3 NJ Residents Injured In Deadly San Diego 'Ghost Gun' Attack
Three New Jersey residents were among four people hurt in a deadly shooting in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego last week, authorities said.
Police described it as an unprovoked "ghost gun" attack.
Vincent Gazzani, 27, of Perrineville in Monmouth County; Alexander Balis, 26, of Mullica Hill in Gloucester County; and Jatil Kodati, 28, of Jersey City were injured by gunfire after a man opened fire in two separate shootings on April 22, according to San Diego police. A New Jersey corrections officer and an accomplice took bribes to sneak drugs into state prison, authorities said.
A Mercer County grand jury returned an indictment on Tuesday charging a state corrections officer and another suspect with accepting bribes to smuggle drugs and other contraband, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said.
