A new storm system is sharpening its aim.
Ahead of the system's arrival, Wednesday, June 17, will be warmer and more humid. Mostly sunny skies will be followed by a slight chance of showers or scattered thunderstorms, mainly at night.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely from midday into the afternoon on Thursday, June 18, across much of the Northeast, according to the National Weather Service.

The evening sky is about to put the finishing touch on a rare June display.
A slender crescent moon will join Jupiter, Mercury, and Venus in the western sky Tuesday, June 16, through Thursday, June 18, creating one of the month’s best skywatching moments.
