A couple from York, PA died in a Virginia motorcycle crash earlier this month, authorities said. Bill Winemiller and his wife, Jane Winemiller, were heading east on Route 7 on a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when it rear-ended a 2018 Honda Civic stopped for a red light at the intersection of Harry Byrd Highway and Main Street in Clarke County around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3, according to Virginia State Police. Speeding Pennsylvania Driver, 29, Charged Crash That Killed NJ Grandmother
A Pennsylvania man has been charged in connection with a fatal high-speed crash in South Jersey, authorities said. Theresa Karbach, 69, of Cherry Hill, died as a result of injuries from the crash in Lawnside on May 13 at about 9:30 p.m., according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay. Anwar Parham, 29, of North Wales, PA, was charged with death by auto, driving with a suspended license and assault by auto, MacAulay said. Thomas Rooney, 55, Dies In Manchester Vehicle Fire: Police
Authorities are investigating a deadly vehicle fire in Manchester Township. Northern York Regional police were called to the 2400 block of Pin Oak Drive around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, May 23. They arrived to find a white 1994 GMC Safari minivan fully engulfed in flames. York Area United Fire and Rescue extinguished the fire and 55-year-old Thomas Rooney was found dead in the van, police said. No one else was injured. LanCo Driver Was More Than 2X Legal Limit In Crash That Sent Passenger Into Surgery: Cops
A Lancaster County man was more than twice the legal limit in a crash that sent his passenger into emergency surgery earlier this month, police said. James Giuca, 37, of Denver, had a blood alcohol level of .184% when he lost control negotiating a curve on East Swartzville Road on May 13 around 2:25 a.m., East Cocalico Township police said. Giuca's vehicle struck a tree, requiring his passenger be extricated from the vehicle and rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. Giuca was charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, DUI, and issued a summary traffic violation.
